Cookies – Pokies Info Hub
Pokies Info Hub tracks pokies sites available to Australian players, and this page covers the small files it may place on your device while you read, and the choices you have over them.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores so a site can recognise it on a later visit. Some keep a page working; others just count visits or hold a setting.
The legal basis in Australia
There’s no dedicated cookie-consent law in Australia. Where cookie data counts as personal information, it’s handled under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, set out in the privacy policy.
Cookies we use
- Essential cookies keep basic functions working, such as a saved setting; they can’t be turned off from inside the site.
- Analytics cookies report aggregated reading numbers and referral sources, without identifying anyone individually.
No cookie here carries advertising or passes data to a gambling operator.
How long they last
Session cookies clear when the browser closes. Analytics cookies expire on a set schedule, capped at 13 months.
Switching cookies off
Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site; blocking analytics cookies has no effect on reading it.
